Sunday 31st of January

A month has past of 2010. It's gone really quick in my opinion but then again, time goes very quick.

Sunday today and I've got a cold...again. I don't know what have happened to my immune system lately. I get sick all the time. I really hope it doesn't get worse though. I'm going to Sweden next weekend and I don't want to be sick then. Now I'm going for a walk in the sunshine with Anna. I really hope the sun and the fresh air will help.

Sushi and shopping

Had a lovely day in the city today. Got lots of nice things and had some sushi which we actually haven't had in a while now so that was good.

Lovely day

When I woke up this morning I was kinda disappointed to see that it had been snowing again. I'm sick of snow, want spring and heat instead. However, the snowy clouds disappeared and the sun turned up instead. It was actually really, really nice to be outside, except for some slippery snow which left me with a big bruise on my butt.

Friday night

Now I'm just sitting here, relaxing and not doing anything. I'm so looking forward to a sleep-in tomorrow. It's going to be lovely.

Almost weekend

Oh, Thursday today! I'm so happy. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I don't really have any plans which feels really good.

Started listening to Australian radio today. It was a bit of a pain to be honest. All these adds about things involving summer killed me. I ALSO WANT SUMMER!!! I'm really looking forward to when we move there. Actually get a bit of summer compare to Europe's shitty summers.

This will be me this weekend.

I miss our little dog. He's my little sweetheart. He's not very cuddly or social but he's incredibly cute. Next weekend I get to see him =)

Het is koud vandaag

...which means: "It is cold today" in Dutch. -3 is what the thermometer showed just before. Brr.

Yesterday we did exactly what you are suppose to do on a Sunday...nothing. We were good and went to the gym for a little while though, but after that we spent the whole night on the couch watching movie and ate chips with dip. Haven't had one of those days in quite a while. I always get so restless and feel like I need to do things (even though there's nothing in particular that I need to do). So it was really nice to just relax. We watched Inglorious Basterds. Really good movie. If you haven't seen it - see it.

Dinner party

Hi all,
I'm so happy that it's Sunday to be honest. Today I'm not going to do anything around the house. Yesterday I cleaned and cooked almost all day so today I'm just going to relax, maybe go to the gym though.
Had a really nice time last night though. The dinner turned out really good. Made vegetarian lasagna and for dessert I made a chocolate-pecan pie with some whipped cream. People seemed to like it so I was very happy. Got the most beautiful flowers from my guests, so pretty.

Woke up about an hour ago. It was so nice to wake up without the alarm. Today I need to do some cleaning and some preparing for our little dinner tonight. We're having some friends over and I'm really looking forward to it. Now I'm going to have some weekend breakfast; toast with eggs and bacon.

Friday at last

I haven't had a very exhausting work week, since I was sick Monday and Tuesday, but I really enjoy that it's Friday today. It is mostly such a lovely day and everyone is happy.
I got home from doing some grocery shopping just before. Since then I've prepared dinner which is gonna be marinated chicken with avocado salsa. Yum, yum.
After work I went on a little trip to the city because I needed to get some things. Of course I went in to my favourite store H&M and found some really good things that were on sale. Got the below three items for €19 (the original price would be almost €55!!!) so it was a very good deal. And the bag is the kind of bag that I've been looking for.

It's quite funny. In this country my two favourite stores are H&M and IKEA. Can you tell that I'm Swedish...? But seriously, you do get value for your money because if you compare to other stores it is cheaper. There is something about H&M in this country as well. In Sweden I never manage to find anything on sale at H&M because all the good things are gone but here I find things all the time. I guess Dutch people don't have the same taste as me.

Rubiks cube

I found this necklace and thought it would be a fun thing to get. Especially since we have a lot of Rubiks cubes in different shapes and sizes lying around here at home.

Day of pampering

Even though I've been at home all day, being really bored, I've had a really nice pampering day. I had a massage in my massage chair, then I had a bath while doing a face mask, a hair mask and actually a lip mask aswell (yes, they do exist). So hopefully I'll now be all ready to go to work tomorrow. I'm not completely sure though since my nose is still shit and I can still not talk properly. But we'll see tomorrow morning.

Now it's time to prepare dinner. I'm making a Swedish classic: Macaroni and meatballs.

Fashion show

I've been a bit bored today so I had a look in my wardrobe and started putting together different outfits. Nothing special really since matching clothes has never been my strong point. Here are some photos anyway.

Still sickie

I decided to stay home today as well. I still don't feel that well, even though it's better today. I'm going to pamper myself really good today so that I will be able to go to work tomorrow. It's boring to be at home all alone. At least I had Bowen at home yesterday, which was really nice. I'm going to start with having a nice, big breakfast.

Muffins

I tried to make muffins earlier today. They turned out quite delicious but I miscalculated a little bit since I had much bigger forms than in the recipe. So some of the got a bit big. I wanted to put photos up but I think I'll just be embarrassed if I do.

Illness

Have had a great weekend. My brother arrived on Friday night. Earlier on that day I went for a few beers with my colleagues and had a really good time.
On Saturday we walked around in Amsterdam for a little bit. We had to go home to get my brothers luggage though, since they left it in Copenhagen when he flew here and they had to deliver it on Saturday instead. In the evening we went to Café de Klos first. I just have to do some advertising for this place. They're famous for their ribs and they are absolutely delicious and you get a lot for a good price. But then the staff there is so funny. I always end up going out of there with a big smile. After Café de Klos we went to Coco's Outback. A nice Australian bar which is very popular amongst the international people. Had a really good time there. Had some cocktails and a couple of Magners. The evening was very interesting and close to the end someone came up and made a move on Bowen while I was sitting right next to him. I mean, what is that? I'm sitting right here, little girl!!! =)

However, the weekend ended up with me now being sick. Have a little bit of a fever, can barely talk and my nose is constantly running. It is not the most fun day that I've had but it's still alright.

Today my oldest brother is coming to visit me/us for the weekend. I am very much looking forward to it. =)

IKEA

I pretty much just got home. I took some hours off work since there was almost nothing to do. So I took the opportunity to go to IKEA. Usually I go there on Friday afternoons or during the weekend because that's the only time I can go but it's always very crowded those times. So it was nice to go today when it was not that many people around. I think people are extra annoying at IKEA. Walk really slow and put their trolleys in the middle of where you walk. Anyway, I got almost everything that I wanted. Needed some things for the appartment but of course I also had a look in the "food market" and got me some treats from there. I really love being able to get Swedish food almost everywhere in the world. It's awesome.

A new day

I'm sitting here with my hot cocoa. I know I wrote yesterday that I've started my new "healthy" life but I actually allowed myself to bend the rules a little and have a cup of cocoa. Not much going on today. It's been pretty good actually. Had a really good day at work and everyone, including myself, were really happy all day.

Now I'm gonna play some Wii Fit plus before I need to start preparing dinner.

Last week I started "my new life": trying to eat more healthy. I stopped eating lollies, at least for a while. I'm gonna try to eat less anyway, ate them pretty much every day before. So we'll see how long it lasts for. I also tried to start eating oatmeal for breakfast. I discovered that you can eat them with raspberries and then it's actually not that bad. I had a period a few years ago when I tried to eat oatmeal in the mornings as well but unfortunately it didn't go that well. But I'll give it another try now. I've been trying to eat something small every second hour as well. They always say that it's good to do that and actually I think it kinda works. I don't feel as peckish or as hungry as I used to.

Oh, well. Those are the kind of things I write about when nothing else has happened. =)

a so, so day

Today has been alright. Not much exciting things going on.
I'm a bit annoyed though. Went grocery shopping at Albert Heijn and I bought toothpaste which was the most expensive thing on the list and of course the cashier put that item in twice. Really annoying. So I'm really going to enjoy this stupid toothpaste now. grrr.

I feel as if I'm starting to get sick. Woke up with a terrible headache which I first thought was from drinking too much wine yesterday but it's been here through the whole day and I have pain in my body aswell. Also feeling a bit feverish but when I checked earlier I didn't have a fever so hopefully it's nothing.

Today I've been cleaning and washing. I warn you to get a black low pile rug, it is a nightmare to vacuum and you have to do it quite often since it's black which means the dust is very visible. I think it took me about half an hour to vacuum this rug today, yuk.

Soon it's pizza time.

Right now

Hi!
Right now I'm eating a little afternoon snack. Cornflakes and fresh strawberries in milk. I don't really eat this a lot but it's something that I can really get a craving for every now and again. It didn't turn out that well today though, because apparently I didn't wash the cutting board well enough since the strawberries have a bit of a garlicy taste. Not so yummy but it's still edible.

I didn't write any more posts yesterday but it was mainly because nothing happened. We went to the store and that was the only time I went outside. So I spent approximately 10 minutes outside during the whole day. I don't really know what we did but time went by somehow. We made a delicious dinner and after that we played some UNO. We had some wine with dinner and then we played two-player Super Mario. That wasn't a very good combination...both of us died A LOT.

Unfortunately I think today is gonna turn out exactly like yesterday. We might have a little walk during the day though...we'll see.

slow day...

The day has been very slow so far.
I started by playing some Wii Fit plus and then I had some breakfast consisting of fried egg and ham on toast. Had some coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice with that. After breakfast I did some vacuuming and now I'm sitting here, wondering what to do next. It seems really cold outside today so I think I won't go out, unless I have to. I know I have to later because I need to go to the store....

continuing Friday evening...

...to be honest, I've actually spent most of the day/evening watching Celebrity Big Brother UK. I first started watching just because the Swedish "artist" Basshunter is in it, so I mostly just wanted to see how he was in there. But then I saw that there were some interesting people in there. Lady Sovereign, Vinnie Jones and Stephen Baldwin for example. I've only watched two episodes so far and I'm already really annoyed with this christian republican. He is very...hmm...american, so to say. In my way of seeing it, full of shit. Anyway...we'll see how it goes.

Now this is how I'm gonna spend the rest of my Friday evening; popcorn, soda and Super Mario. At least until 21:30 when there's a show about the Jackson family.

Friday evening

I've spent my night listening to happy music and dancing in front of the mirror. It's probably my most common way to spend a Friday night nowadays.

I made a very nice dinner aswell. It was really delicious, better than I expected.

Cold

It is way too cold to go outside today. I should really go to the gym but I absolutely do not feel like it. I think I will just stay here and clean the apartment and play some Wii. Later on tonight I might watch a nice movie if there are any on TV.

Snow makes me happy

Hi everyone!

Got back from work a few minutes ago. My God, it's been a slow day. I was basically bored from the moment I walked in through the door at work. I had things to do all day but I was still really, really bored. I think I need more holidays. =)

On my way home I got a bit happier though. The snow was coming down like crazy but it was really pretty. It made me extremely happy. I think I smiled the whole metro ride home. You know those people that you sometimes wonder "What the h*** is he/she smiling about? Do I have something on my face or what?!" - that was probably me today. It's just so pretty...not very convenient, but pretty. I'm kind of happy that I take public transport though because the traffic was really bad. Traffic jams pretty much everywhere. I wanted to take lots of photos but I didn't have my camera and unfortunately we don't have nice views from our apartment and it's too cold to go outside again. I did manage to take one photo though.

Now I really wished I had some hot cocoa to sip on while I watch TV, but I guess tea will do fine aswell. It doesn't really give me the same cosy feeling though...

Short working day

Now I'm home from work. Got to leave earlier today since I had some overtime left from last year. So I spent 1½ hour doing some birthday shopping. I got my dad a little present that I'm gonna send so that he hopefully gets it by next week. Bought some other necessary things like soap. I did also buy Vichys Aqualia Thermal eye roll-on. Can't believe that it's time to go back to the old routines that I somehow managed to have before Christmas and all the holiday days. I just want to go back to bed. I actually woke up before my alarm went off this morning, so I took that extra time and had a nice shower which I thought would wake me up but it didn't really; I'm still kinda sleep walking. Anyway, it's time to go to work pretty soon. Have a nice day everyone!
